SALEM, Va. - The WildCats traveled to Salem, Va. for the Joe LaRocco Invitational hosted by Roanoke College on Saturday and posted all-around performances.
For the 60-meter prelims,
Renya Russell led the Wildcats with a fourth-place finish in 8.03 seconds to qualify for the semifinals.
Tatianna Langston also advanced after posting a time of 8.48.
Tyana Ayres competed in the event and finished with a time of 9.02.
Russell and Langston both delivered again in the 60-meter semifinals. Russell matched her preliminary time with an 8.03 to place fifth overall and advance, while Langston recorded a season-best 8.30 to finish seventh and earn a qualifying spot as well.
Russell took fifth place in the 60-meter dash finals with a 8.05 and Langston followed with a season-best of 8.23.
In the 200-meter dash,
Jessica Taylor led the way with a 26.71 for fourth place. Russell came in eighth with a 27.37. Langston clocked a 28.05, Ayres came in at 30.15 for a personal record, and
Madison Somerville finished in 30.27.
Taylor and Somerville also showed in the 400-meter dash where Taylor was fourth with a 59.75 and Somerville with a 1:09.57.Â
Ryleight Frayser represented the WildCats in the 800-meter run and came through with a time of 2:49.70.
The Wildcats also saw action in the field events, as
Kai Pegram represented the WildCats in the long jump, finishing 14th overall with a mark of 3.69 meters. She also took part in the triple jump and placed ninth with a 9.50 meter mark.
Annabelle Anthony made her debut in the shot put with a 5.87 meter mark.
Closing out the meet was Russell, Somerville, Langston, and Taylor in the 4x400-meter relay with a season-best 4:23.57 for second place.
The WildCats will now prepare for the 2026 ODAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 28-March 1 at Roanoke College.
