ASHLAND, Va. - The Randolph College women's swimming team traveled to Randolph-Macon for its final regular-season meet on Friday afternoon ahead of the 2026 ODAC Championships. The WildCats fell to the Yellow Jackets 32-173.
The meet opened with the 200-yard medley relay in which Abby Ward,
Taylor Eshelman,
Kaitlyn Heckman, and
Rio Bucy took third in a time of 2:07.54.
Katya Zaitsev and
Katie Scifres swam in the 1000-yard free with Zaitsev in 12:45.48 and Scifres in 13:09.31. Bucy swam a time of 2:14.99, and
Maddie Dyl clocked a time of 2:26.42 in the 200-yard free.
Eshelman and
Taylor-Paige Kitts competed in the 50-yard free. Eshelman finished in 26.50, and Kitts came in at 33.36.
Alaura Arringdale hit the wall in 2:39.14 in the 200-yard IM, and Ward followed suit in 2:40.79.
Heckman finished in a time of 1:14.12, and Kitts finished in 1:32.74 in the 100-yard butterfly. The 100-yard free saw Eshelman place third in 59.30 and Zaitsev come in at 1:08.40. Ward, Scifres, and Kitts competed in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 1:16.15, 1:21.42, and 1:22.19.
In the 500-yard free, Bucy came in at 5:52.90 and Heckman at 6:15.52. Arringdale swam a time of 1:22.98 in the 100-yard breaststroke, along with Dyl in 1:29.83.
The team of Arringdale, Scifres, Zaitsev, and Dyl made up the 200-yard free relay, and they came in third at 2:05.19.
The team will now gear up for the 2026 ODAC Championships in Greensboro, N.C., on Feb. 11-14 on FloCollege.
