LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's wrestling team hosted Greensboro in an ODAC dual match on Thursday evening. The WildCats defeated the Pride 29-17 for their first ODAC dual win in program history.
The WildCats started the match with forfeit wins at the 125 and 133 weights. At 141, Adrian Fox (Forest City, N.C./Chase HS) took down Ivan Benitiz by major decision 15-5. Adon Oversteet (Lynchburg, Va./Heritage HS), the current ODAC Lighter Weight Wrestler of the Week, took down Mitchell Johnson by an 8-6 decision. Matthew Garland (Lynchburg, Va./Heritage HS) scored a fall against Carson Gardner at the 165 weight. The Pride took a forfeit win at 174 and then victories at the 184, 197, and 285 weights.
The WildCats will not compete at the D. Kenneth Ober Invitational this weekend due to the forecasted winter storm. Randolph is scheduled to host Washington and Lee in an ODAC match on January 31 starting at 5:00 p.m.
