Frayser Breaks Record as Women's T&F Competes at Finn Pincus Invite

SALEM, Va. - Randolph women's track & field turned in a well-rounded performance at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College.

The WildCats showcased their speed in the 60 meters, with Jessica Taylor, Renya Russell, Tatianna Langston, and Brooklyn Brooks all advancing from prelims to the semifinals. Russell led the group in the semis, clocking a personal-best 8.16, while Taylor followed closely at 8.17. Langston recorded a season-best 8.47, and Brooks came in at 8.52.

In the hurdles, Shaniya Owens competed in the 60m hurdles, posting a time of 11.60 in prelims.

Taylor continued her strong day in the 200 meters, finishing sixth with a time of 26.79, while Russell added a 27.65 showing for Randolph. In the 400 meters, Taylor delivered another standout performance, placing third overall with a time of 1:00.22. Freshman Madison Somerville set a personal record of 1:08.50, and Owens followed at 1:09.22.

Ryleigh Frayser was a major highlight in the middle-distance events, recording two podium finishes. Frayser placed third in the 600 meters with a personal-best 1:49.89 for a school record, then followed with a runner-up finish in the 1000 meters, clocking 3:31.23.

In the field, Brooks made her presence felt with a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.50m (4-11.00). Brooks also competed in the long jump with a mark of 4.63 meters.
