Men’s Tennis Earns a Pair of VaSID Recognitions

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Virginia Sports Information Directors on Tuesday morning released its All-State Team in Men's Tennis. Randolph's Jacob Martin (Wadebridge Cornwall, Great Britain Callywith College) and Andreas Mulner (Brasnov, Romania) were named to the First Team for doubles and Mulner was selected to the Second Team for singles.

Mulner is just the second men's player in the history of the WildCat program to be selected to the All-State team joining Alex Kulvivat (2022). Martin and Mulner are the first doubles pair for Randolph to be named All-State.

Martin and Mulner were named to the ODAC First Team last month and became the first Randolph doubles team to be selected to the First Team in program history. The duo posted an overall record of 8-1 and were 4-1 in ODAC play during the season at first doubles. Martin and Mulner first teamed up together on March 29 as they won 6-3 over the pair of Mathew Leonard and Corey Beshoar from Bridgewater.

The two WildCats helped lead the team to the ODAC semifinals for the first time in the program's history. The pair were 2-0 in the ODAC Tournament with wins against Hampden-Sydney's Barret Foster and Thomas Davis in the quarterfinals and Prabjeet Chanhok and Jaeden Mukkaladyil from Averett in the semifinals. The pair ended the season on a six-match winning streak.

Mulner had a successful sophomore season as he led the team with a 16-6 singles record. He was 6-3 at first singles and 7-0 at the second singles spot and had a 7-2 ODAC record. Mulner was also 16-6 in doubles play.
