LEXINGTON, Va.- The sixth seeded Randolph men's tennis team took on second seeded Averett in the second semifinal of the ODAC Tournament on Saturday evening. The Cougars defeated the WildCats 4-2.
Averett led 1-0 after the doubles portion of the match. Jacob Martin and Andreas Mulner did win their first doubles match over Jaeden Mukkaladyl and Prabjeet Sign Chandok 6-3. Ondra Pelda and Jason Duval lost at three doubles 7-5. Second doubles was the last match to be decided and the pair of Carlos Haupt and Vincenzo Marchese were edged out by Rafael Jodas and Samuel Egui 7-6.
The WildCats picked up points in singles play. Marchese got the first point with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Florian Bert at third singles. Mulner won his first singles match against Satwik Kollepali 6-4, 2-6, 6-3. The match was clinched at sixth singles as Lucas Fiandra defeated Dev Mani 6-0, 6-0.
Randolph concludes its season with an overall record of 10-7 and 5-4 in the ODAC. It also marked the final match for senior Mani.
