LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's lacrosse team hosted Greensboro in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon at WildCat Stadium. The Pride won by the score of 20-9.
The Pride led 3-0 in the first quarter with 10:49 remaining in the period. Randolph got on the board at 8:21 as Chase Callan (Fredericksburg, Va.) assisted Leyton Brightly (Spotsylvania, Va./ James Monroe). Greensboro netted two more scores to make it 5-1 but Callan assisted Noah Callahan (Bristow, Va./Brentsville District HS) on the man-up score to make it 5-2. It would be 6-2 Greensboro at the end of the quarter.
Greensboro increased its lead to 8-2 with under six minutes to play in the second quarter. Michael Baldwin (Culpepper, Va./Liberty HS) scored at 5:41 to make the score 8-3. The GC lead grew to 11-3 with 1:35 left to play in the quarter. Baldwin netted his second goal with 30 ticks left to put the score at 11-4. Greensboro scored once more to lead 11-4 at halftime.
The Pride would outscore the WildCats 6-2 in the third period. Randolph outscored the Pride 3-2 in the final quarter of play to narrow its deficit.
Baldwin led the 'Cats with five goals and added one assist for a seven-point day. Brightly scored twice and tallied an assist. Callahan also scored twice and assisted on a second goal. Callan finished with three assists.
Nathan Pradachith (Alexandria, Va./Edison HS) led in groundball pickups with six. Keegan Slider (Saluda, Va./Christchurch School) got the start between the pipes and stopped five shots. Jake Hanna (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan HS) finished with 11saves.
Randolph hosts currently #10 ranked Washington and Lee in ODAC play on Wednesday. Game time will be at 4:00 p.m.
