VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Randolph softball team traveled down to Virginia Wesleyan for a mid-week doubleheader. The WildCats were shutout in both games in 0-10 and 0-9.
Randolph's offense struggled to generate scoring opportunities in game one. Pitchers
Paige Scruggs and
Aubree Bass combined for four innings of work, surrendering 10 runs on seven hits.
In game two, the WildCats were held hitless for a straight game. Randolph's
Austyn Moran started on the mound allowing seven runs (four earned) over three innings.
Rylee Humble pitched in the final frame allowing two runs on three hits.
The 'Cats return to home field on Saturday for a doubleheader match-up against Shenandoah at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
