Women's Wrestling Shuts Out Loras, Competes at Gator "Boots" Duals

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Randolph College women's wrestling team made the trip over to Nashville for the Gator "Boots" Duals hosted by Luther College before the end of the year. The team picked up a sweeping 43-0 win over Loras College, but fell to Lock Haven (11-36), Simpson College (6-40), and Mount Union 14-34.

VS LORAS
At the lower weights, Chloe Simmons earned a 10-0 technical fall at 103 pounds over Kylie Loffer, followed by Alanna Jennings matching the effort with a 10-0 technical fall of her own at 110 pounds against Emely Mejia Garcia. Ayden Schultz extended the lead at 117 pounds with a forfeit win.

The WildCats continued to rack up points through the middle of the lineup, with Marielle Hirkala (131), Stephanie Noel (138), and Jenna Moening (145) each collecting forfeit victories.
In the upper weights, Emily Riopel secured a fall at 160 pounds over Izabella Peters in 2:29, while Sophia Butler followed with a pin at 180 pounds against Lucy Read in just 1:47. L.J. Peters closed out the dual with a forfeit win at 207 pounds to seal the shutout.

VS LOCK HAVEN 
Randolph jumped out to an early lead with back-to-back falls. At 103, Simmons pinned Summer Batts in 2:48 to put the WildCats on the board, followed by Jennings earning a fall at 110 over Anna Lackey in 2:07 to give Randolph an early advantage.

Lock Haven responded at 117 as Journie Rodriguez secured a 10-0 technical fall over Schultz. The Bald Eagles continued to build momentum with a forfeit win at 124 and a 10-1 decision by Isabella Devito over Hirkala at 131. From there, Lock Haven controlled the middle and upper weights, recording falls at 138, 145, 160, and 207, along with a technical fall at 180.

VS SIMPSON
Simpson claimed the early momentum with technical falls at 103 and 110, followed by a pin at 117 to build an early lead. The Storm added to their advantage with a forfeit at 124. Randolph's highlight of the dual came at 131, where Hirkala secured a fall over Lily McMahon to put the WildCats on the scoreboard. At 138 pounds, Noel picked up a point in a 10-4 decision loss.
Simpson closed out the dual strong, earning a technical fall at 145 and pins at 160, 180, and 207.

VS MOUNT UNION
Randolph struck first with back-to-back forfeit wins at 103 and 110, as Simmons and Jennings each picked up five team points. Schultz followed at 117 with a hard-fought 12-11 decision over Erta Beqiri to extend the WildCats' early lead.

Mount Union responded at 124 pounds with a forfeit and then began to take control of the dual. Abigail Mozden recorded a 14-4 technical fall over Hirkala at 131, followed by a pin at 138 to swing the momentum. The Purple Raiders closed out the dual strong, earning falls at 145, 160, and 180 pounds, along with a technical fall at 207.

The WildCats are back on the mat on Jan. 3 when they head to Alabama for the Red Lady Duals hosted by Huntingdon College.
