Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted the WildCat Invitational on Sunday. The WildCats played teams from Shenandoah, Bridgewater, and Pfeiffer.
Aksel Tinnes-Rimehaug (Oslo, Norway) and Jason Duval (Kingston, Jamaica) both won two doubles matches on the day. The pair defeated Shine Tokas and Max Arkans from Shenandoah and then were 6-3 winners against the duo of Laurin Rauer and Hugo Kezen from Pfeiffer.
Jacob Martin (Wadebridge Cornwall, Great Britain/Callywith College) and Andreas Mulner (Brasnov, Romania) defeated Javier Robles Solis and Bogdan Stan from Pfeiffer 6-1. Vincenzo Marchese and Carlos Haupt (Weston, Fla./FLVS) teamed up to win 6-3 over Shenandoah's Artem Babaiev and Neal Love. Lukas Rathgeb (Koln, Germany/ Apostelgymnasium and Nate Quisbert (Annadale, Va.) were 6-3 winners over Logan Garner and Steven Perry from Bridgewater.
In the singles portion, Martin won his first singles match of the day over the Falcons' Jayden Wellman 6-1, 6-4. In his second singles match, Martin had a huge win over Shenandoah's Dominick Suwak, the defending ODAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year, 6-3, 6-0.
Haupt needed a super tiebreaker as he won 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) over Kezen in the first round.
Tinnes-Rimehaug won his match against Tokas 6-1, 7-6. Marchese was a 6-3, 6-0 winner over Stan in the second round. Rathgeb defeated Perry 8-1 in the second round. Duval won 8-1 over Aristide van Bergeijk from Pfeiffer in the second round.
