Alanna Jennings went 5-1 at the Liberty Women's Duals.
LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph College women's wrestling team traveled up the road for The Strong and Courageous Women's Duals at Liberty University. The WildCats defeated three teams out of six, defeating Southern Virginia 39-10, Liberty 29-20, and Greensboro 25-5. The team fell to Montreat College 15-32, The Apprentice School 20-24, and Brewton Parker 20-28.
VS SOUTHERN VIRGINIA
Chloe Simmons got the day started in the 103-weight class getting the tech fall, 14-4, over Katie Ramsay in 3:55.
Alanna Jennings and
Kylie Brigman were awarded forfeit wins in the 110 and 117 weight classes.
Ayden Schultz won by tech fall, 14-4, in 3:48 over Andrea Castro in the 124-weight class. Â
Jaden Kopalchick fell to Seanl Casperson, 6-17, in the 131-weight class.
In the 138-weight class,
Marielle Hirkala won by fall of 8-0 in 1:20 over Leigh-Anne Verburg.
Stephanie Noel went quick in her 145-weight class, getting a fall in 53 seconds over Gracie Blake with a score of 4-0. Zion Warren took the tech fall to Alexis Kirkland, 0-10.
Sophia Butler, in the 180-weight class, got the fall over Dazi Thatcher, 6-2, in 2:14. L.J. Peters closed out the dual with a forfeit win.
VS MONTREAT COLLEGE
Morgan Repasky got the win over Simmons in the 103 class in a tech fall 12-1. Jennings got some action in her second duel of the day, winning by a decision of 8-7 over Manoela Almelda at 110. At 117, Sheyla Ochoa Salgado of SVU won by fall over
Kylie Brigman. Schultz took the tech fall in 3:10 at 124 against Daniela Espinal. A close match for Hirkala in the 131- weight class as she fell to Anna Skoda 6-8. Kopalchick won by fall 6-4 in 1:22 in the 138- weight class. Noel got her second win with a tech fall at 145, winning 11-0. The Cavaliers claimed the last three classes, 160, 180, and 207 to seal the win.
VS LIBERTY
Simmons and Jennings both won their matches by forfeit at 103 and 110 respectively. Schultz took the fall at 124 in 2-2 against Aurora Pennington. At 131, June Welch won by fall 4-0 over Kopalchick. Noel at 145 got the win with a fall in 53 seconds for a score of 4-0.
Emily Riopel won her match at 160 with a fall in 46 seconds for a score of 4-0. Butler added another win with a tech fall, 10-0, in 4:32 at 180 and Peters closed out with a fall, 5-0, in 46 seconds to win the dual for the WildCats.
VS APPRENTICE SCHOOL
The Apprentice School took wins in the 110, 117, 138 classes. Schultz won by forfeit at 124. Jordyn Anderson of The Apprentice School won by tech fall,10-0, over Kopalchick at 131. Noel continued her winning streak at 145, winning by fall 4-0 in 56 seconds over Ida Pellel. Riopel won by forfeit at 160. Siddle Hoffen took the win over Butler in a fall of 8-3 at 180. Jenning Moening won by forfeit in the 207-weight class.
VS BREWTON PARKER
Both Simmons and Jennings took forfeit wins at 103 and 110. At 124, Schultz won by a fall of 4-2 in 1:18 over Adeline Harper. Brewton Parker's Kathleen Fisher won by fall 4-0 over Kopalchick at 131. Noel took the 7-0 decision loss to Tiana Fries. Riopel got the win over Delaney Graves by fall in 29 seconds. Brewton Parker captured wins in the 180 and 207 classes with wins by falls in under one minute.
VS GREENSBORO
Simmons, Schultz, Hirkala, and Moening took the forfeit wins at 103, 124, 131, and 180. Jennings won by fall 4-0 in 1:45 at 110 over Breanna Davis. Greensboro's Kyra Tomlinson got the win by fall 12-1 in 2:04 at 138. Noel faced a tough opponent in Hallie Misplay, just winning by a fall of 6-5 in 3:47 at 145. Riopel won by tech fall 10-0 in 1:22 over Priscilla DeWitt at 160. Closing out the day was Peters with a win by fall 8-0 over Jasmine Edwards at 207.
The WildCats are back in action at the Sam Case Classic hosted by McDaniel College on Nov. 23 in Westminster, Md.
