LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's tennis team hosted the WildCat Invitational on Saturday. The WildCats played teams from Pfeiffer, Shenandoah, and Bridgewater.

In doubles play, Rachel Combs (Benbrook, Texas) and Sophia Cahue (Aurora, IL/Metea Valley HS) were 7-5 winners over the pair of Riley Isley and Sydney Cohen from Pfieffer. Natalie Thompson (Rutherfordton, N.C./Polk County HS) and Mikayla Smith (Pittsville, Md./Parkside HS) defeated Sarah Slagle and Regan Witt from Bridgewater 6-3. Amy Rigg (Charlottesville, Va./The Covenant School) and Maddie Mills (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) teamed up to take down Addison Furr and Anna Smith from Pfeiffer 7-5. Riggs and Mills won their second match of the day as they were 6-4 winners over Kendra Gillette and Leigha Montrief from Shenandoah.

In the singles portion, Smith had two wins. She defeated Isley 6-3, 6-1. Smith had the same score victory against Claire Germain from Pfeiffer.

Cahue also had two wins with both coming in super tiebreakers. Cahue won 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) over the Falcons' Gracie Spangler and 2-6, 7-5 1-0 (11-9).

Combs needed a super tie breaker in her match against the Falcons' Fanny Apostolou. Combs won 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7).

Rigg was a 6-0, 7-6 (7-2) winner over Kristin Colie from Pfieffer. Thompson defeated Smith 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7).

Randolph will close out fall competition next Saturday at Bridgewater. The match begins at 1:00 p.m.
