LEXINGTON, Va. - The Randolph women's swimming team opened the 2025-26 season the annual ODAC Relays hosted Washington and Lee University. The meet consists of ODAC schools and the teams compete in only relay events. The team finished seventh over with a total score of 47 points.
Katelyn Spuchesi,
Katya Zaitsev,
Taylor Eshelman, and
Rio Bucy of the A team finished ninth overall in 100 Yard Relay in 51.49 seconds. The B squad finished in 17th with a 56.95, consisting of Alaura Arringdale,
Reaghan Quinn,
Taylor Kitts, and
Maddie Dyl.
In the 3x50 Yard Fly Relay, the A team finished 10th, Spuchesi, Eshelman, and
Kaitlyn Heckman, with a time of 1:30.28.
For the 3x50 Yard Back Relay, the team finished 14th in 1:40.71 consisting of Heckman, Bucy, and
Reaghan Quinn. In the 3x50 Yard Breast Relay, Arringdale, Quinn, and Dyl finished 14th in 2:00.29.
The 400 Yard Free Relay saw Heckman, Bucy, Arringdale, and Zaitsev swim a 4:21.24 for 16th overall.
Spuchesi, Eshelman, and Bucy made up the 3x100 Yard IM Relay and swam a time of 3:31.60 for 11th. The 500 Yard Relay team of Eshelman, Heckman, Bucy, and Spuchesi swam a 5:22.64 for 12th place. The 200 Yard Medley Relay squad of Heckman, Eshelman, Spuchesi, and Zaitsev came in 15th with a 2:09.11.
Quinn, Zaitsev, Dyl, and Kitts came in 14th in the 100 Yard Relay underwater fly kick, each swimmer doing a butterfly kick underwater. Their time was 1:18.89.
In the 200 Yard Free Relay, the team finished 14th. Zaitsev, Quinn, Arringdale, and Kitts finished with a time of 1:18.89.Â
The team returns home for their home opener on Saturday at 1 p.m. They will face William Peace, Hollins, and Gallaudet.
