ASHLAND, Va.- The Randolph men's basketball team traveled to Randolph-Macon to face the #18 Yellow Jackets on Wednesday evening. The 'Jackets defeated the WildCats by the score of 95-69.
Randolph led 13-2 in the opening minutes of the first half. Randolph-Macon would go on a 17-3 run to go on top 19-16 with 10:08 showing on the game clock. A 10-0 WildCat run gave Randolph a 26-19 advantage at 8:14. RMC's 20-3 run changed the game around as the hosts went ahead 39-29 with under three minutes remaining until halftime. The Yellow Jacket lead would stand at 13 points,47-34, at halftime.
Randolph-Macon outscored Randolph 48-35 in the second half as it never trailed.
Viktor Parson (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) led the team with a career-high 20 points in 18 minutes off the bench. Jordan Phillips-McLoyd (Johnson City, Tenn./Science Hill) finished with 13 points.
Randolph returns home to host Averett this coming Saturday. Game time will be at 2:00 p.m.
