Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va.- Members of the Randolph women's tennis team continued competition on the second day of the ITA Southeast Regional Championship hosted by Mary Washington.
In the Round of 16 in the Championship draw of singles play, Lena Kersten (Bonn, Germany/Otto Kuhe Schule) had a hard fought match against Ava Li of Johns Hopkins but fell by the score of 6-4, 6-1. In the Championship draw consolation round, Lize van Veen (Harderwijk, The Netherlands) fell to Lucy King of Haverford 8-2. In the Blue draw consolation, Fleur Gaalman won 8-2 over Julia Basset in the Quarterfinals and then defeated Madison McCarty of Mary Washington 8-7 in the semifinals.
In the semi-finals of the doubles Blue draw, Gaalman and Emma Bauer were 8-3 winners over the duo of Amber Manspeaker and Cleopatra Solomon of St. Mary's College of Maryland. In the final, Gaalman and Bauer were bested by Lorena Piegas and Julian Gomez from the Stevens Institute of Technology.
