WINCHESTER, Va.- The Randolph women's tennis team faced Shenandoah in an ODAC match on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets bested the WildCats 8-1.
The WildCats' lone win was at first singles. Lena Kersten (Bonn, Germany/Otto Kuhne Schule), who is currently ranked 18th in the current Atlantic South Region rankings, defeated Tanea Spruill 6-2, 6-0 to improve to 13-0 on the season.
Amanda Jagdeo (South Ozone Park, NY/Flushing HS) won four games in her sixth singles match against Erin Talkon in the first set but fell 6-0 in the second set. Maddie Mills (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) won two games at third singles against Ariella Stepleman. Gianna Cabrera (Portsmouth, Va.) won a game in her fifth singles match against Allison Cherwien.
Randolph travels to Hollins on Wednesday. The match begins at 4:30 p.m.
