LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's lacrosse team hosted cross-city the University of Lynchburg on Saturday afternoon at WildCat Stadium. The Hornets won the game by the score of 17-4.
Lynchburg scored three straight goals within the first two minutes of the game to take a 3-0 lead. Randolph got on the board with 7:35 remaining in the opening on a Mackenzie Woodson (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Collegiate) unassisted goal to make it a 3-1 contest.
The Hornets scored seven straight goals spanning the first and second quarters to take a 10-1 lead late in the second period. Randolph knotted a pair of goals in the third quarter but the Hornets were too much in the end as they held off the WildCats.
Woodson scored twice for the 'Cats, picked up three groundballs, and caused two turnovers. Logan Warren (Chesterfield, Va./Steward School) scored Randolph's other two goals.
Mireya Norville (Sunrise, Fla./South Plantation HS) finished with 18 saves in the cage. She scooped up four groundballs.
Randolph will return to the field on April 10 as it hosts Ferrum. Game time will be at 7:00 p.m.
