Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C.- The Randolph men's tennis team faced Guilford in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match on Wednesday afternoon. The Quakers defeated the WildCats 7-2.
The WildCats drop to 6-4 overall and 1-2 in ODAC play. Guilford improves to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
In the doubles portion of the match, the WildCats took one point. Dev Mani (Bangalore, India./St Claret PU College) and Andreas Mulner (Brasnov, Romania) defeated the pair of Tye Sasser and Rylan Tuten 8-4. First doubles saw Jacob Martin and Ondra Pelda (Prague, Czech Republic) drop a close decision to Andres Mercedes and Brandon Hermes 8-6.
Mulner also won his second singles match as he went three sets against Hermes. Mulner fell in the first set 6-4 but rebounded to win the next two sets 6-2, 6-3.
Pelda and Sasser also went to three sets at third singles. Pelda lost the first set 6-4 but was able to take the second set 6-4. The third set was tight as Sasser edged out Pelda 7-6 (7-3).
Randolph is scheduled to play Virginia Wesleyan at home this Saturday. Match time is at 1:00 p.m.
