RALEIGH, N.C.- The Randolph women's tennis team began its spring season on the road at Meredith on Wednesday. The WildCats were able to pull out a win as they topped the Avenging Angels 5-4.

In the doubles portion, Lena Kersten(Bonn, Germany) and Sabrina Dickerson (Brookneal, Va.) won over the pair of Ryan Jennings and Ellie Osbourne 8-6 at first doubles. Maddie Mills (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) and Tori Yancey won at third doubles 8-1 over Ellie Phillips and Hannah Jo Joblonski.

Kersten easily won over Osbourne 6-1, 6-1 at first singles. Mills was a 7-6, 6-4 winner over Jenning at third singles. Amanda Jagdeo (South Ozone Park, NY/Flushing HS) won by default at sixth singles. Dickson had a tough match with Hanah Higgins at second singles as she fell by the score of 6-4, 6-4.

Randolph hosts Salem College on February 17. Start time will be at 1:00 p.m.
