LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's wrestling team hosted its first ever match on Sunday afternoon as they faced West Virginia University Institute of Technology and Patrick Henry Community College. The WildCats fell to the Golden Bears 35-23 and defeated the Patriots 59-0.

Against Patrick Henry, the WildCats had wins in six weight classes. Justin Porter (Lynchburg, Va.) got the first win of the day for the 'Cats as he took down Nick Daniel. Zak Gurban (Dumfries, Va.), Noah Williams (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass), and Adon Overstreet (Lynchburg, Va./Heritage HS) all won by falls in their respective weight classes. Darmal Danish (Charlottesville, Va./Charlottesville HS) and Trae Spivey (Roanoke, Va.) were also winners. Jackson Raditz, Theodore Piluso (Troutville, Va./Lord Botetourt), and Nate Quisbert (Annadale, Va.) and Harriss Sullivan (Clemmons, N.C./North Davidson HS) all won by forfeits.

In the WVU Tech match, Randolph got on the board first as Porter took down Jayden Rouse. Gurban won by forfeit at 133. The Golden Bears took the next two weight classes to tie the match at 12-12. Overstreet then scored a tech fall in the 157-weight class and Piluso won over Shannon Fray by fall. WVU Tech took the next five weight classes to pull away and take the victory.

Randolph will next compete at the Cougar Duals next Saturday at Averett.
