Men’s Swimming Competes Strongly but Falls to Bridgewater in Home Meet

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph College men's swim team competed hard in their home meet but ultimately fell to Bridgewater College, 69-190. Despite the result, the WildCats had a strong showing with several notable finishes.

Evan Shopbell was a standout in the distance events, securing 2nd in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:50.37. He also placed 2nd in the 500-yard freestyle (5:16.19), while teammate Will Perrow took 3rd with a time of 6:36.60.

Milo Fagan shone in the 200-yard freestyle, claiming 1st place with a swift 1:51.63. In the sprints, Ryan Fraiser performed strongly, posting a time of 22.66 in the 50-yard freestyle and 51.43 in the 100-yard freestyle.

The breaststroke events saw Ben Hiss finishing 3rd in both the 50-yard breaststroke (28.83) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.89). Jackson Hunt added depth to Randolph's lineup, placing 3rd in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.70 and also in the 50-yard fly (25.30). In the 200-yard individual medley, Shopbell clocked a solid 2:10.75 to round out the meet.
