Justin Porter placed sixth for Randolph
WINCHESTER, Va.- The Randolph men's wrestling team competed at the Shenandoah Invitational on Saturday. The WildCats finished in eighth place out of 11 teams that competed with 29.5 points edging out Union County College by half a point.

Theodore Piluso (Troutville, Va./Lord Botetourt) garnered 13.5 points for the WildCats on the day and took fifth place in the 165-weight class. He won by decision over Kolin Driscoll from Elizabethtown and then a tech fall over Brayden Shannon from Wilkes. Piluso lost to Messiah's Keegan Demarest in the Quarterfinals by a tech fall. He then won consolation rounds over Caleb Lawrence from Wilkes and Nick Hwang from Johns Hopkins by decision and his fifth-place match against Johns Hopkins' Noah O'Connor by fall.

Justin Porter (Lynchburg, Va.) tallied 9.5 points for the 'Cats in the 125-weight class. He lost his first match of the day to Noah Rosa of Wilkes by decision. Porter won by a fall in 26 seconds over Marco Meneses from Wilkes in the Consolation First Round and then a decision against Nicolas Anderson from Garret College. In the semifinals, Porter took down Thomas Longo from Wilkes in just under two minutes. In the fifth-place match, Porter was taken down by Duncan Stadler from Johns Hopkins in 4:29.

In the 285-weight class, Trae Spivey (Roanoke, Va.) won by decision against Preston Nitschke-Love from Messian. He lost to Caleb Burkhart by a fall in the second round. Spivey won his next two matches by decision and fall before falling to Brian Moyer Jr. in 1:15 in Round 4.  Spivey had four points in total on the day.

Zak Gurban (Dumfries, Va.) won his lone match in the 133-weight class over Matthew Casey from Messiah by a fall in 46 seconds. Jordan Nutter (Fredericksburg, Va./Courtland HS) had 2.5 points in the 141-weight class as he took down Colton Krall in just under a minute in the Consolation Round.

Randolph will compete next Saturday at the Penn College Invitational in Williamsport, Pa.
