Men’s Wrestling Competes at Cougar Open

DANVILLE, Va.- The Randolph men's wrestling team competed at the Cougar Open hosted by Averett on Sunday. The WildCats totaled 21 points on the day and finished in seventh place.

Theodore Piluso garnered 10 points for the WildCats on the day. He won by a tech fall in the first round over Shenandoah's Daiveon Barlow and then won by decision over Julian Scott of Marymount. He lost to Jack Bobeck from Roanoke in the quarterfinals. Piluso then won his consolation round match against Jordan Scott of Liberty by a fall in just over four minutes time. He lost in the consolation semifinals to Taven Williams in a technical fall.

In the 141 weight class, Jamir Young took down Aidan Rodgers in the first round. While he lost in the second round, he would go on to win by a tech fall in the in the consolation round over Rcey Ortego from Liberty.  Young tallied five points for the WildCats.

Justin Porter won by a tech fall in his 125 weight class match against Caleb Haynes from St. Andrews.  Jordan Nutter won by decision over Aden Davis from East Carolina University in the first round of the consolation match in the 141 weight class.

Randolph will next compete at the Shenandoah Invitational this coming Saturday.
