ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The Randolph men's swimming team traveled to St. Mary's College of Maryland for a tri-meet against the Seahawks and Virginia Wesleyan Marlins. The WildCats defeated the Marlins 156-86 and lost to the Seahawks 149-109.
The WildCats' relay teams were strong, securing second-place finishes in both the 200-yard medley relay (1:42.74), with
Ian Russell,
Ben Hiss,
Jackson Hunt,
Ryan Frasier, and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:32.68), with
Milo Fagan,
Evan Shopbell, Hunt, and Frasier.
In individual events, Shopbell led with a commanding first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:57.10) and went on to secure second place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.45) and 400-yard IM (4:36.98).
Fagan earned first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.38 and added two second-place finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.92) and 500-yard freestyle (5:21.36). Hiss' performance in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.15) earned him second, along with a third-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:25.54).
In the sprints, Frasier claimed first in the 50-yard freestyle (22.54) and followed up with a close second in the 100-yard freestyle (51.10). Hunt kept the WildCats competitive in the 100-yard freestyle, securing third (51.32), and added a strong second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (55.88).
Aiden Tuck contributed with a third-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly (2:35.27).
Randolph hosts Bridgewater on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m.
