GREENSBORO, N.C.- The Randolph men's basketball team faced off against #2 Guilford on Wednesday night. The Quakers defeated the WildCats by the score of 68-47.
It was a 9-9 game at 13:48 of the first half. Guilford went on an 11-2 run to jump ahead 23-11 with 8:36 remaining in the period. The Quakers would lead 37-22 at halftime. Randolph made it a 13-point game, 37-24, early in the second half but Guilford would prove to be too much as it went ahead by as much as 24 points on its way to the win.
The WildCats were 16-of-55 (29.1%) shooting on the night and 6-of-22 (27.3%) from behind the three-point arc. The Quakers led in total rebounds 41-33.
Landon Wagoner (Martinsville, Va./Carlisle School) scored seven points to go with six rebounds, one block, and one steal. Amari Gorham (Yorktown, Va./Yorktown), Evan Wiehe (Northfield, OH/Nordonia), Ryan Davis (Erlanger, KY/Lloyd Memorial), and Nehemiah Frye (King George, Va./King George) all finished with six points on the evening.
Randolph is back in action this Saturday when it travels to Roanoke. Game time from Salem is at 2:00 p.m.
