LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's lacrosse team hosted Guilford on Saturday afternoon in the WildCats' regular season finale which was also Senior Day. The Quakers won the game by the score of 17-5.
The WIldCats trailed 4-0 in the first period. Goals by
Bruce Patterson (Fork Union, Va./Fork Union Military Academy) and
Michael Baldwin (Culpeper, Va./Liberty) cut the Randolph deficit to two at 4-2. Guilford then rattled off 12 straight goals to pull away from the 'Cats on its way to the win.
Baldwin scored twice and assisted on a third goal for Randolph.
Chase Callan (Fredericksburg, Va.) scored one goal and tallied an assist.
Leyton Brightly (Spotsylvania, Va./Spotsylvania) and Patterson scored once.
Nick Pietro (Spotsylvania, Va./Spotsylvania) picked up five groundballs and caused two turnovers.
Colin Murphy (Cedar Park, Texas/Austin HS) and
CJ Berry (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) both caused a pair of turnovers with Murphy also scooping up three groundballs.
Adam Ulffers (Greenville, N.C./J.H. Rose) stopped 17 shots in the cage for Randolph.
The game marked the final one for seniors Berry, Pietro,
Sean Landis (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette),
Quincy Johnson (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac),
Kent Snoddy (Palmyra, Va./Fluvanna County),
Zach Miller (Corpus Christi, Texas/Fork Union Military Academy) and
Shamar Stanley (Arrington, Va./Nelson County).
