WINCHESTER, Va.- The Randolph women's lacrosse team wrapped up its 2023 season on the road at Shenandoah on Saturday. Despite a couple of weather delays, the game went on as the host Hornets won 27-3.
With five draw controls won on the afternoon,
Sophia Cirone (Stuart, Fla./South Fork HS) now holds the single season record for draws won on the season with 73 and tops the old mark of 68 set by Taylor Klevenz in 2015 and matched by Nicole Dorton in 2016. Earlier in the week, Cirone set the single season goals record that was also previously held by Klvenez.
Cirone scored all three of Randolph's goals to give her 61 on the year.
Beverly Alcock (Purcellville, Va.) picked up two groundballs and won one draw control.
Cristina Berenguer-Llongueras (Barcelona, Spain) won two draws.
Olivia Richards (Limestone, Tenn./Pinecrest) won two draws. She ends her four-year career ranked eighth in goals with 68, and fifth in draw controls with 110.
Taylor Batty (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) totaled nine saves in the cage. In her two seasons as goalkeeper, Batty finishes with 248 saves to rank fourth on the career list.
