LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's tennis team played its final home match of the season on Friday afternoon as it hosted Hollins. The WildCats went out winners as they defeated HU 9-0.
Valentina Santos (Valencia, Venezuela/Instituto de Education Activa IDEA) and
Sabrina Dickerson (Brookneal, Va.) paired up at first doubles and were 8-3 winners over Carlia Kearney and Millie Shaw.
Harper Whetzel (Grottoes, Va./Harrisonburg HS) and
Noura Elkhansa (Charleston, W.V./George Washington HS) defeated Peyton Jones and Charlie Miller 8-5 at second doubles.
Jenna Fink (Madison Heights, Va./Amherst) and
Cassidy Bell (Monroe, Va./Amherst County) were 8-2 winners over Izzy Ingwerson and Mei Shalaby at third doubles.
Santos took down Shaw 6-0, 6-2 at first singles. Dickerson won 6-0, 6-1 over Jones at second singles. Whetzel needed a super tiebreaker in her third singles match against Kearney. Whetzel prevailed 6-4, 0-6, 11-9. Fink went to a super tiebreaker in her fourth singles match with Charlie Miller. Fink came out on top 7-6, 5-7, 12-10. Elkhansa was a 6-3, 6-0 winner at fifth singles over Shalaby. Bell won 6-4, 6-0 in her sixth singles match over Ingwerzon.
Seniors Fink, Bell, and Whetzel were recognized before the match.
Randolph finishes with an overall record of 8-9 and 3-7 in the ODAC.
