Women’s Tennis Shuts Out Salem 9-0

Box Score WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Randolph women's tennis team played a non-conference match at Salem on Saturday afternoon. The WildCats defeated the Spirit 9-0.
Randolph's overall record improves to 7-8 on the season.

Both first and second doubles were won by the WildCats by scores of 8-3. The third doubles pair of Cassidy Bell (Monroe, Va./Amherst County) and Noura Elkhansa (Charleston, W.V./George Washington) won their match over Alyson Gammons and Jasmine Scott 8-1.

Valentina Santos (Valencia, Venezuela/Instituto de Education Activa IDEA) won at first singles over Cadence Durham 6-1, 6-2. Sabrina Dickerson (Brookneal, Va.) took down Emily Griffs 6-0, 6-1 at second singles. Harper Whetzel (Grottoes, Va./Harrisonburg) needed a super tiebreaker to get best Alana Bridges 1-6, 6-3, 10-6. Jenna Fink (Madison Heights, Va./Amherst) defeated Gammons, 6-2, 6-2 at fourth singles. Elkhansa was a 6-3, 6-0 winner over Ashley Linden and Bell knocked off Scott 6-2, 6-1.

The WildCats return to ODAC play on Tuesday for their rescheduled match against Randolph-Macon. Start time is 4:00 p.m.
