DANVILLE, Va.- The Randolph women's tennis team traveled south to the campus of Averett University to take on the Cougars on Wednesday afternoon. AU won 9-0 over the 'Cats.

At first doubles, Valentina Santos (Valencia, Venezeula) and Sabrina Dickerson (Brookneal, Va.) took two games against the pair of Keira Gunning and Brenda Poulakidas.

Santos won three games against Paula Rhysen in her first singles match as Rysen won 6-0, 6-3. Dickerson claimed one game in her second singles match with Poulakidas. Jenna Fink (Madison Heights, Va./Amherst) fell 6-1, 6-0 at third singles. Cassidy Bell (Monroe, Va./Amherst County) dropped her fourth singles match 6-1, 6-1 at Amelie Brune. Gianna Cabrera (Portsmouth, Va.) played at fifth singles and dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Elisa Battermann. Molly McNair (New South Wales, Australia) took a game in the first and second set against Franka Keil.

The women are idle until March 12 when they travel to Johnson and Wales. The match begins at 11:00 a.m.
