Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Roanoke in the ODAC opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon. The Maroons topped the WildCats 8-1.

First doubles was a close match as Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) and Dev Mani (Bangladore, India/St. Claret PU College) faced off against Federico Maccari and Julio Marques. Maccari and Marques edged out Alvarado and Mani 8-7 winning the tiebreaker 7-6.

Mani was the lone winner in singles play for the WildCats on the day. He defeated Zach Kriebel 6-2, 6-2 at second singles. Alvarado went to a super tiebreaker against Maccari but fell 4-6, 6-3, 11-1 at first singles. Angelo De Asis (Clayton, N.C./Cleveland HS) dropped a close decision to Hardt Lesko 6-4, 6-4 at third singles. Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) also had a battle against Marques but Marques came out on top 6-4, 6-3 at fourth singles.

The WildCats will host Averett on Thursday starting at 3:30 pm.
