Softball Announces 2023 Schedule

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph softball team officially announced its schedule for the 2023 season on Tuesday. The WildCats will play 42 games this year with nine home and 11 road dates.

The season begins on February 18 at Methodist and followed by Southern Virginia on February 22. The first home doubleheader is March 1 against Greensboro.

The WildCats will again compete at the Grand Slam Triangle Classic hosted by William Peace on March 4 and 5. Randolph will face Elmira, LaGrange, Piedmont and Susquehanna. Both the Lions and River Hawks won their respective conferences last season and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

After returning from Raleigh, the WildCats host Mary Baldwin on March 8. The team then travels to Myrtle Beach for the first time since 2018 to compete at the FastPitch Dreams Tournament from March 12-16.

Randolph is back home on March 21 with a doubleheader against Sweet Briar. It will be the first time the two teams will face each other since 2017 as the Vixens revived their program. The 'Cats next host Salisbury for the first time ever on March 23. The Seagulls won 42 games last season and advanced to the NCAA Championship finals.

The ODAC opener is at Eastern Mennonite on March 25. Bridgewater comes to town on April 1. Randolph makes the short trip across town to face cross-city rival Lynchburg on April 5. The WildCats host back-to-back doubleheaders against Averett (April 8) and Shenandoah (April 11).

An April 15 road trip to defending ODAC Champion and NCAA Super Regional participant Virginia Wesleyan is followed by fellow NCAA Super Regional participant Randolph-Macon on the 16th. The WildCats then host Guilford on April 19. Another NCAA Tournament participant in Roanoke follows on April 22 in Salem. The regular season concludes at home against Ferrum on April 30. The ODAC Tournament starts May 5.
