LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Bridgewater on Wednesday afternoon in the WildCats' regular season home finale. The Eagles won 7-2.
Both of Randolph's wins came in the singles portion of the match. Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) defeated Matthew Gordon 6-4, 6-4 at second singles. The win gives Kulvivat his team-leading 16th which is already a Randolph single season record. He also ends the season on a seven-match winning streak.
Bhuvan Ambekallu (Karnataka, India/Bethany High) won 7-5, 6-3 over Mark Gordon at third singles. Colby Cook (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) had a hard fought match against Matthew Leonard but fell 6-3, 6-3 at fourth singles. Cook and Ambekallu lost at #2 doubles to Gordon and Gabe Elder 8-4.
Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago Chile/Colegio Olimpo) lost a close match against Canon Secord dropping 6-4, 6-1 at #1 singles.
The WildCats end the season with a final record of 6-12 overall and 2-6 in the ODAC.
