HARRISONBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's lacrosse team traveled to Eastern Mennonite to face the Royals on Wednesday afternoon. The WildCats defeated the Royals 16-3.

With the win, Randolph improves its overall record to 4-6. EMU drops to 0-12.

The WildCats scored eight goals in the first quarter and five in the second quarter. All of the Royals goals came in the third quarter.

Randolph outshot Eastern Mennonite 37-15 and 30-8 in shots on goal. The WildCats picked up 32 groundballs and won 17 draw controls.

Beverly Alcock (Purcellville, Va.) scored five goals to lead the WildCats. Sophia Cirone (Stuart, Fla./South Fork) and Olivia Richards (Limestone, Tenn./Pinecrest) both scored four times. Thao Ho (Chicago, IL), Alexis Bossi (Falls Church, Va./Justice), and Cristina Bereguer-Llongueras (Barcelona, Spain) all had one goal each. Cirone also won six draws with Richards and Alcock both winning four.

Richards led in groundball pickups with six. Alcock scooped up five. Yanessa Cabrera (Manassas, Va./Stonewall Jackson) had four groundballs and caused three turnovers. Taylor Batty (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) stopped five shots between the pipes.

The WildCats host Randolph-Macon on Friday night. Game time will be at 7:00 p.m.
