BRIDGEWATER, Va.- The Randolph women's lacrosse team played an early afternoon matinee game at Bridgewater on Friday. The Eagles would defeat the WildCats 20-4.
BC led 3-0 with 7:41 remaining in the first quarter. The WildCats scored two straight times to close to 3-2 with just under seven minutes remaining in the period. The Eagles would go on to score twice more to take a 5-2 lead at the end of the quarter.
Bridgewater led 7-2 with 11:24 to play in the second quarter. The 'Cats got a free position goal by Alexis Bossi (Falls Church, Va./Justice) to make it 7-3 at 7:49 and a free position score by Olivia Richards (Limestone, Tenn./Pinecrest) to close the score to 7-4 with 6:47 remaining in the period. Three more Eagle goals would put the score at 10-4 at halftime. BC outscored Randolph 10-0 in the second half.
The WildCat goals were scored by Sophia Cirone (Stuart, Fla./South Fork), Beverly Alcock (Purcellville, Va.), Richards, and Bossi. Cirone won three draws. Taylor Batty (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) had 10 saves in the pipes and also picked up two groundballs.
Randolph travels to Eastern Mennonite on Wednesday. Game time will be at 4:00 p.m.
