Women’s Tennis Defeats Hollins for First ODAC Win of the Season

ROANOKE, Va.- The Randolph women's tennis team faced Hollins in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match on Sunday afternoon. The WildCats defeated HU by the score of 7-2.

Randolph is 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the ODAC. Hollins drops to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in the ODAC.

The WildCats won all three of their doubles matches. Zeinab Elkhansa (Charlston, W.V./George Washington) and Valentina Santos (Valencia, Venezuela) defeated the duo of Krishna Angrawal and Amelia Shaw 8-2. Sabrina Dickerson (Brookneal, Va.) and Cassidy Bell (Monroe, Va./Amherst County) teamed up to knock off Hannah Miller and Carlia Kearney 8-4. Jenna Fink (Madison Heights, Va./Amherst) and Bailey Livingston (Evington, Va.) won 8-3 over Amanda Dobert and Emily Jones.

Randolph picked up wins at third, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles. Dickerson won 6-1, 6-0 over Kearney at #3. Livingston was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Miller at #4. Bell defeated Izzy Ingerson 6-0, 6-2 at #5. Fink held off Jones 6-4, 6-0 at #6.

Elkhansa lost in a super tiebreaker at #2 singles 6-3, 4-6, 8-10. Santos fell to Angrawal 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-4) at first singles.

Randolph hosts Ferrum this coming Wednesday afternoon. Match time is 3:00 p.m.
