LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Ohio Northern on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears topped the WildCats 8-1.

Randolph's lone win came at first doubles. The pair of Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) and Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) defeated Matt Garcia and Peyton Specht 8-5. The second doubles match saw Bhuvan Ambekallu (Karnataka, India/Bethany High) and Colby Cook (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) drop an 8-3 decision to the pair of Vinh Thai and Zach Beaschler 8-3.

Alvarado lost to Andrew Cochran 6-2, 6-0 at first singles. Kulvivat fell to Tristan Munteanu 6-0, 6-2 at second singles. Ambekallu dropped a close first set to Specht 7-5 before losing 6-0 in the second set at third singles. Both fourth and fifth singles were 6-1, 6-0 decisions.

Randolph plays its first conference match of the season on Wednesday as it hosts Ferrum. Start time is 3:00 pm.
