GREENSBORO, N.C.- The Randolph men's tennis team took on Guilford in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match on Sunday afternoon. The Quakers won by the score of 7-2.
Randolph had one win in the doubles portion. Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile./Colegio Olimpo) and Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) defeated Drake Schreiber and Evan Wong 8-2 at first doubles. Colby Cook (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) and Bhuvan Ambekallu (Karnataka, India/Bethany High) lost a close decision at second doubles 8-5 to Jay Montague and Tye Sasser.
Alvarado won his #1 singles match against Schreiber. After easily taking the first set 6-1, Alvarado outlasted Schreiber 7-6 in the second set. Kulvivat lost his second singles match against Montague 6-4, 6-1. Ambekallu fell to Andrew Ferris 6-3, 6-1 at third singles. Cook lost to Wong 6-2, 6-0 at #4.
The WildCats travel to Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday. Start time for the match is at 2:00 p.m.
