LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's tennis team hosted Averett on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars won the match by the score of 9-0.
Doubles matches were 8-1, 8-1, and 8-0 in Averett's favor. In singles play, Sabrina Dickerson (Brookneal, Va./William Campbell) battled it out against Paula Rhysen at third singles. Rhysen edged out Dickerson 7-6 in the first set then won the second set 6-0.
Valentina Santos (Valcenia, Venezuela/Instituto de Education Activa Idea), Zeinab Elkhansa (Charleston, W.V./George Washington), Bailey Livingston (Evington, Va.), and Jenna Fink (Madison Heights, Va./Amherst) all took a game against their respective opponents. Cassidy Bell (Monroe, Va./Amherst County) fell at #5 singles 6-0, 6-0.
The WildCats start conference play on Wednesday as they head up to Lexington to face Washington and Lee. The match starts at 3:00 p.m.
