Men’s Tennis Shuts Out Mary Baldwin 7-0

STAUNTON, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team traveled to Mary Baldwin to face the Fighting Squirrels on Wednesday afternoon. The WildCats would win in a shutout 7-0.

Both first and second doubles ended with the same result. Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) and Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) won at first doubles 8-1 as did the pair of Colby Cook (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) and Bhuvan Ambekallu (Karnataka, India/Bethany High) at second doubles.

Alvarado was a straight set winner at first singles 6-0, 6-0. Kulvivat dropped just one game at second singles as he was victorious 6-0, 6-1. Ambekallu won by the same score at third doubles. Cook was a victor at fourth singles 6-0, 6-2. Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) had a shutout win at #5 6-0, 6-0.

Randolph hosts Averett this coming Saturday. The match starts at 1:00 p.m.
