WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Randolph women's swimming faced Gallaudet in a dual meet on Saturday. The WildCats defeated the Bison 122-72.
Leading the way for the WildCats were Eva Pontius (Lynchburg, Va.) and Taylor Eshelman (Huntersville, N.C.) who both won three events each. Pontius took first place in the 50 yard backstroke, 200 yard backstroke, and 200 yard freestyle with times of 33.43, 2:39.05, and 2:21.30, respectively. Eshelman's first place finishes came in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle and 100 yard IM with times of 26.46, 1:00.01, and 1:11.24.
Ava Skinner (Lynchburg, Va.) took first in the 50 yard breaststroke in a time of 36.56. Skinner was the fastest in the 200 yard breaststroke with her time of 2:56.41.
Katie Scifres (Colorado Springs, Colo.) had a pair of first place results. She touched the wall first in the 200 yard fly in a time of 3:11.56. She also swam a time of 6:21.53 in the 500 yard freestyle. Scirfres was a close second in the 50 yard butterfly as her time of 33.86 was .85 seconds from Gallaudet's Amelia Oliver.
Molly McNair (New South Wales, Australia) had the best time for the Randolph women in the 1000 yard freestyle with her time of 14:21.20.
The 200 yard freestyle time of Pontius, Skinner, Scifres, and Eshelman swam a first place time of 1:58.04.
The WildCats are idle until November 18 when they compete at the Pacer Invitational hosted by William Peace.
