Men’s Swimming Begins Season at ODAC Relays

LEXINGTON, Va.- The Randolph men's swimming team began its 2022-23 season at the ODAC Relays hosted by Washington and Lee on Saturday. The WildCats finished seventh.

The highest overall finish was 10th in the 150 yard breaststroke. The trio of Ethan Mayfield (Evington, Va.), Sam Hey (Black Mountain, N.C.), and Ben Hiss (Forest, Va.) swam a time of 1:30.27.

The fastest time came in the 100 yard free. Solomon Lewis (Forest, Va.), Josh Roberts (Chesapeake, Va.), Mayfield, and Dan Allee (Alexandria, Va.) posted a time of 44.91.

In the 100 yard Dolphin K Relay, Hey, Roberts, Aiden Tuck, and Allee swam a time of 52.38 for 11th place.

The 200 yard medley relay saw Tuck, Hey, Allee, and Hiss post a time of 1:50.56. The 200 yard free team of Hey, Hiss, Lewis, and Roberts finished in 1:39.01. In the 400 yard freestyle, Allee, Roberts, Lewis, and Hiss came in 17th with a time of 3:40.83. The 500 yard freestyle quad of Lewis, Allee, Roberts, and Hiss finished with a time of 4:44.87.

In the 3x50 Butterfly, Lewis, Mayfield, and Tuck swam a final time of 1:20.72. In the 3x100 IM, Mayfield, Tuck, and Hey posted a time of 3:12.26.

Randolph hosts its first meet of the season on Saturday as it welcomes Virginia Wesleyan and St. Mary's College of Maryland to the Bateman Aquatic Center. The meet starts at 1:00 p.m.
