Women’s Swimming Hosts Tri-Meet

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's swimming team hosted Warren Wilson and Bridgewater on Friday evening at the Bateman Aquatic Center. The WildCats topped the Owls 137-77 and fell to the Eagles 200-53.

Taylor Eshelman (Huntersville, N.C.) came in first n the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 30.24. She was also second in the 50 yard freestyle with her time of 27.04. She was third in the 100 yard freestyle with a final time of 59.84.

Katie Scifres (Colorado Springs, Colo.) touched the wall in 12:40.70 in the 1000 yard freestyle. She was fourth in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:24.72 and fourth in the 100 yard IM in 1:17.95.

Eva Pontius (Lynchburg, Va.) came in third in the 200 yard free in 2:19.84. Pontius was also third in the 500 yard freestyle as she touched the wall in a time of 6:18.82. She was fourth in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:15.94.

Ava Skinner (Lynchburg, Va.) was the runner-up in the 50 yard breaststroke as she swam a time of 35.55. She came in fifth in the 100 yard freestyle with her time of 1:05.67. Skinner was third in the 100 yard breaststroke in a time of 1:21.19.

Kai Miller (Richmond, Va.) had the fastest time for the WildCats in the 50 yard backstroke as she swam 36.92. Hannah Cloven (Fredericksburg, Va.) posted a time of 46.12. Miller had a time of 1:18.49 in the 100 yard backstroke.

The 200 medley relay team of Pontius, Skinner, Eshelman and Miller had a collective time of 2:11.23. Miller, Scifres, Molly McNair (New South Wales, Australia), and Cloven all swam the 200 yard freestyle relay in 2:11.14.

Randolph travels to Washington, D.C. next Saturday to compete against Gallaudet.
