LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's swimming team hosted Virginia Wesleyan and St. Mary's College of Maryland in a tri-meet at Bateman Aquatic Center on Saturday. The WildCats outscored the Marlins 90-68 while they fell the Seahawks 126-55.
Ben Hiss (Forest, Va.) had one of the top finishes for Randolph on the afternoon as he was the only WildCat to compete in the 50 free as he placed second with a time of 23.97 which was just .25 of second behind Luke Bukowski of Virginia Wesleyan. Hiss was also second in the 500 yard freestyle with a final time of 5:17.85. He added a third place result in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 53.77.
Josh Roberts (Chesapeake, Va.) was the second swimmer to touch the wall in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.24. Roberts added a third place result in the 1000 free as he touched the wall in a final time of 12:07.39.
Sam Hey (Black Mountain, N.C.) was third in the 100 yard breaststroke with his time of 1:06.06. He was also fourth in the 200 yard IM with a posted time of 2:13.27.
Dan Allee (Alexandria, Va.) came in fourth in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:03.17. Fellow WildCat Solomon Lewis (Forest, Va.) was right behind him in 2:12.34. Allee had a fifth place result in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.32. Lewis came in fourth in the 100 yard butterfly in a time of 1:08.12. Aiden Tuck was third with a time of 1:00.34.
The 200 yard medley relay team of Tuck, Hey, Allee, and Lewis was second to the Seahawks as they had a collective time of 1:50.91.
Randolph will next host Gallaudet next Friday. The meet will start at 6:00 p.m.
