LYNCHBURG, Va- The Randolph women's swimming team hosted its only home meet of the season on Friday night as they competed against Ferrum. The WildCats were the top team on the evening as it won 132-81 over the Panthers.
Eva Pontius (Lynchburg, Va.) had three individual first place finishes for the WildCats. She was the top finisher in the 1000 yard free as she touched the wall in a time of 13:26.46. Swimming in the 100 yard free, she had the top time of 1:03.24. Pontius swam a time of 6:07.14 in the 500 yard free.
Bryanna Smith (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) won the 200 yard free in a time of 2:14.35. She swam unopposed in the 200 yard fly and finished in 2:41.94. Smith was also unopposed in the 100 yard fly as she finished in a time of 1:09.18.
Kyra Miller (Richmond, Va.) had the top time in the 50 yard free. She swam a time of 32.54. Miller was second in the 200 free with a time of 2:42.86.
Ava Skinner (Lynchburg, Va./Brookville) swam a first place time in the 200 yard breaststroke of 2:51.69. She took second in the 100 breast (1:17.50) and the 200 IM (2:55.90).
Madeline Freshour (South Boston, Va./Halifax) came in second in the 100 yard backstroke swimming a time of 1:23.89. She was also second in the 50 free with a time of 33.10.
Jasmine Beck (Manassas, Va.) placed third in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:37.05. She was also third in the 100 yard free with a time of 1:16.87.
Molly McNair (New South Wales, Australia/Figtree) placed second in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 3:03.86. She also had a third place result in the 1000 free (14:21.27) and was fourth in the 500 yard free (7:03.31).
The 200 yard medley relay team of Pontius, Skinner, Smith, and Miller took first in a time of 2:10.45. The 200 yard free relay squad of Beck, Freshour, McNair, and Miller swam a time of 2:11.43.
The WildCats now prepare for the ODAC Championships next month. Day 1 will start will start February 10 in Greensboro, N.C.
