FREDERISKBURG, Va.- Members of the Randolph women's tennis team competed in the ITA Southeast Regional Championships on Saturday. The event was held on the campus of Mary Washington.
Valentina Santos (Valencia, Venezuela/Instituto de Education Activa Idea) played in the Championship Singles bracket. She lost 6-0, 6-0 to Cassidy Landau from Franklin and Marshall. Santos now moves to the consolation bracket where she goes against Mary Washington's Abigail Mohtader.
Zeinab Elkshansa (Charleston, W.V./George Washington) lost a close decision to Jacqueline Nesbeth from Stevenson 8-7 (7-5) in the B7 singles bracket. Elkhansa will face Alexia Alfaro from Sweet Briar in the consolation.
At B6 singles, Bailey Livingston (Evington,Va.) lost 8-2 to Hannah Carter from Salisbury. She will play Abigail Cassidy from Catholic in the consolation.
Sabrina Dickerson had a bye in B8 singles. She will play Grace Knighton from Bridgewater in the semifinals in that bracket.
At B1 doubles, Elkhansa and Santos fell to the pair of Brown and Lewis from Swarthmore 8-1. The B2 doubles pair of Livingston and Dickerson dropped an 8-1 decision to Simonson and Cassidy from Catholic.
