Men's Tennis Falls to Emory and Henry 6-3 in Regular Season Finale

Nico Alvarado won 6-3, 6-0 at first singles and teamed with Alex Kulvivat for an 8-7 win at first doubles
EMORY, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team looked to end its regular season on a high note as it traveled west to Emory and Henry on Saturday. The Wasps had the upper hand on the day, however, as they won 6-3.

Doubles play saw at battle at #1. Nicolas Alvardo (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) and Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) faced off against E&H's Sean Given and Archer Marlow. Alvarado and Kulvivat were able to win the tiebreaker 7-3 and take the match 8-7. Both second and third doubles matches went 8-3 in favor of the Wasps.

Alvardo won his first singles match over Brandon McGuire 6-3, 6-0. Bhuvan Ambekallu (Karnataka, India/Bethany High) ran his winning steak to six as he knocked off Given 6-0, 6-2 at third doubles. Kulvivat played hard but fell at second singles to Marlow 6-2, 6-1. Colby Cook (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) lost to Bryce Williams 6-1, 6-3 at fourth singles. Fifth singles saw the Wasps Henry Quesenberry win over Tucker Leverone (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond River) 6-0, 6-2. Sixth singles went to E&H's Zeke Workman 6-0, 6-0 over Noah Carney (Charleston, W.V./Homeschool).
