Box Score ASHLAND, Va.- In its penultimate regular season match, the Randolph men's tennis season went on the road to face Randolph-Macon. The Yellow Jackets won what was an overall tight match 6-3.
First doubles had the lone win for the WildCats. Nico Alvarado (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Olimpo) and Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) were able to outlast the pair of Max Hammock and Alex Hein 8-7. Second doubles was another close decision. Colby Cook (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) and Bhuvan Ambekallu (Karnataka, India/Bethany High) fell to Inigo Suescan and Ryan Aud 8-6.
Alvarado got the win in first singles over Hammock 6-4, 6-3. Ambekallu was also a winner at third singles as he had to gut out a super tiebreaker 1-6, 6-2, 13-11. Kulvivat was bested by Suescan at second singles 6-7, 1-6. Cook dropped a 5-7, 1-6 decision to Aud at fourth singles.
The WildCats travel to Emory and Henry next Saturday. The match will start at 1:00 p.m.
