LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Roanoke in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match on Saturday afternoon. The WildCats won three matches on the day but the Maroons won overall by a score of 6-3.
The pair of Nicolas Alvarado (Santiago, Chile) and Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) won their first doubles match against the duo of Jack Fishwick and Grayson While 8-6. Second doubles was also a close match with Colby Cook (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) and Bhuvan Ambekallu (Karnataka, India/Bethany High) falling to Dalton Capobianco and Zach Kreibel 8-5.
Kulvivat also won his second singles match against White 7-6, 6-0. Alvarado was the last on the court at first singles and was a victor over Fishwick 5-7, 6-4, 10-7.
Capobianco was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Ambekallu. Kreibel knocked off Cook 6-1, 6-2. Thomas Hodges won over Ramiro Chavez-Montoya (Roseland, Va./Nelson County) 6-0, 6-1.
Randolph hosts Mary Baldwin in a non-conference match tomorrow afternoon. The match starts at 2:00 p.m.
