DANVILLE, Va.- The Randolph women's tennis team traveled to Averett on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars won by the score of 9-0.

In doubles play, Zu Elkhansa (Charleston, W.V./George Washington) and Heather Whetzel (Grottoes, Va./Harrisonburg HS) took a game against the pair of Louise Hovhammar and Eleanor Crane. Second and third doubles were 8-0 decisions in favor of Averett.

In the singles portion, Elkhansa took a game against Hovhammer at first singles. Whetzel also won a game in her second singles match with Crane. Third, fourth, fifth and sixth singles were 6-0, 6-0 wins for Averett.

Randolph hosts Pfeiffer next Saturday. Start time for the match is 1:00 p.m.
